With its huge lake and varied habitats, Beltzville State Park is one of the premier birding locations in our area!

We'll scan the lake for waterfowl and walk the trails in search of songbirds as spring migrants start to push through.

Join us on a bird walk at Louise Moore Park.

This Northampton County park hosts a combination of habitats including meadows, old growth forests, native plantings, and stormwater management facilities which will attract a variety of birds.

Meet at the western parking lot for Louise Moore Park, located off Country Club Road (GPS coordinates 40.691970, -75.294496 see map).

Note that there are driveways for the Park on both sides of Country Club Road; we will be meeting in the parking lot on the west side of the road.

How many times have you been frustrated because you saw a warbler near the top of a tree and got such a poor look at the head and wings that you couldn’t identify it?

But you probably got good views of the underside of the bird----the throat, the breast, the belly, and especially, the under-tail coverts and the tail.  Many birders concentrate on a warbler’s head pattern for identification.  And it IS important in most cases.  But many don’t realize that the tail area of warblers can be a big help with identifying them, as I will hope to show you during this program.

Family & Beginner Bird Walk at the Whitehall Parkway March 29th

The Lehigh valley Audubon society Youth Committee invites families and beginner birders to celebrate the start of spring with a guided walk at the Whitehall Parkway!

enjoy a two-hour bird walk through mixed habitats along the Ironton Rail Trail and Coplay Creek.

We hope to see a variety of bird species, including some early spring migrants.

meet at 9:00 am at the Whitehall Parkway’s main parking lot along S. Church St.

This program is free and open to birders of all experience levels.

A limited number of loaner binoculars will be available for those who need them.
